Aina Fest 2017

2016 Kohala ʻĀina Festival

Event Overview

7th Annual Kohala ʻĀina Festival

November 12th, 2016 1-10 pm (gates open at 12:30 pm)

The Kohala 'Āina Festival is an annual benefit concert and celebration of local harvest, small farmers, and the vibrant movement for island-wide food sovereignty. Held each year at the beginning of the Makahiki season, the festival features a superb line up of international and local musicians, educational workshops, a 100% locally grown Hawaiian style feast, local, organic food vendors, and several family friendly keiki activities.

We are so pleased to welcome back the world-renowned Nahko and Medicine for the People, in addition to Tubby Love and Hāwane Rios, with more artists to be announced in the coming weeks! Tickets are $45 in advance, $50 at the door, and children 12 and under are admitted free. This is a family-friendly, drug, and alcohol-free event. Aside from being a celebration of harvest and farming, the Kohala 'Āina Festival is an annual fundraiser to support the Hawai'i Institute of Pacific Agriculture, a non-profit educational organization based in North Kohala, on the Big Island. All proceeds from the event support the three core pillars of HIP Agriculture’s programming: Residential Farmer Trainings, Youth Education, and Community Events and Workshops held throughout the year.
